Description

The printing company I did designs for the car project, wanted to have a design for a tee they could give away to clients.

They wanted a very graphical style, so this is a new style for me and was lots of fun to do.

About the skull:
I took a design I made earlier
BloodRing by Elite, GFXartist sponsor Wallace and traced the skull in main parts. I printed it out, sketched it further with a pencil and than scanned it back into PS.

Painted with PS and Wacom graphire tablet

Fullsize can be viewed here:

Thanks!

I'm still waiting for those frikking car pics, but I should receive them any moment...

EDIT: I've toned down the blackness of the background patterns according to Pam's advice

Great design, I especially like the fine shading on the close-up and the way the glyphs are engraved into the skull +9/10

This will look really good on t shirts and I really like the bendy metal behind the skull, nicely done

Fitting design for the company it was done. The pieces of metal that are bent and twisted add an industrial appearance, while having a decorative aspect that blends with the line work else where in the design. Metal jutting from the skull breaks up its' recognizable shape, however it does does work in the car theme. Adding some line work similar to that would have brought those areas together in a visual sense. Great job.

please just let me put in my 2 cents eh?
dunno I feel I need to.. I know you don't like me commenting on your works but eh maybe it will help yah for future projects..
the background in black I think it really taking away from the center design to much its distracting
and the marks on the skull sorta distracting
but the over all center design is sweet

So I guess that printing method works on cars and shirts? I just know I usually have to really limit my pallet when I do shirt designs because it costs too much to do more than say 6-7 colors at most. Nice job, I would say probably just lose the swirly background stuff altogether maybe.

Thanks for your comment Pat:)

Well, the client specifically wanted those patterns so...;)
Also, I like the way the background 'interacts' in the same rythm with the foreground structure.
Lots of thought has gone into this...not necessarily the right one, but still...:)

Thanks again:)

looks brilliant!
though 1 little minor thing i just noticed... the teeth of the skull....
i find it quite normal that the upper jaw is in front of the lower one... isn't that right?
so in this one, the lower teeth are in front of your front teeth... wich is kinda weird :p
still 8/8 though!

You do it very nice, I prefer this sweet design to the bloody one, but both are awesome works :)
The colours are pleasing which makes a high contrast with that scary skull... great
Looking forward to see those car pictures!
